2009 is off to a record-setting year.  With over 95 anglers in Port Aransas, TX and 80 in Rockport, prizes are big and the fun-factor is even bigger.  The third stop of the 2009 Texas Kayak Series will be held at Bridge Harbor Yacht Club in Freeport, TX.

The Texas Kayak Series is the newest venture for Simrod Outdoors.  After witnessing the eagerness of Kayakers to compete in a professional atmosphere in 2007, Simrod Outdoors has decided to expand the Texas Kayak Series to four events in 2009.  Entry Fee per tournament is $75.00 per person.  For an extra $50.00 per team.
Continued in the 2009 season is the option for individuals to enter the "Team Bonus" side pot.   Two anglers can join their two fish at the weigh-in.  In order to fish together as a team, the two anglers must launch at the same site and fish in the same vicinity as their team mate.  Also, continued for the 2009 season is  the Angler of the Year award and Team of the Year award.
